Ammonite, hand cut green marble and red gold smalti.
A fossil picked up from a beach at Redcar in the North of England, is the origin of this piece and its centre. The hand cut green marble moves in lines that become blurred and blended. Highlights are provided by the touches of red gold tucked into crevices.
The whole piece is embedded in a lovely piece of tawny slate.
